AU SFB profit rises 37 pc to Rs 796 cr in Q1 on lower provisions, margin expansion

Business To Business, New Delhi, 26th July, 2026:   AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB) on Saturday reported a 37 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 796 crore for the April-June quarter, supported by lower provisioning and an improvement in its net interest margin (NIM).
The lender had posted a net profit of Rs 581 crore in the corresponding quarter last year and Rs 832 crore in the January-March quarter.
Executive Director Vivek Tripathi described the performance as one of the bank's strongest first-quarter results in recent years. He said the bank achieved more than 20 per cent of its budgeted business in the first three months of the financial year, compared with the usual 15 per cent typically recorded during what is generally considered a seasonally weak quarter for the banking sector.
Tripathi attributed the strong performance to healthy business momentum, improved profitability and disciplined risk management as the lender continues its transition towards becoming a universal bank.
