Business To Business, Kolkata, 26th July, 2026:  West Bengal's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.57 per cent between 2015-16 and 2024-25, according to the State Finances Audit Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) tabled in the state Assembly on Saturday.
The report said the state's GSDP increased from Rs 7.97 lakh crore in 2015-16 to Rs 18.15 lakh crore in 2024-25, reflecting sustained economic expansion over the period.
For 2024-25, the state registered a GSDP growth rate of 9.91 per cent, the report noted.
Despite the robust economic growth, the CAG report observed that West Bengal continued to post revenue deficits throughout the period, highlighting persistent fiscal challenges alongside the state's expanding economy.
The findings provide an overview of the state's economic performance and fiscal position over the past nine financial years.
