Business To Business, Bengaluru, 27th June, 2026: UnboxingBLR (UBLR) has partnered with the Karnataka government and the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) to undertake a large-scale urban greening initiative, planting more than 6,000 saplings along an 8-kilometre stretch in Bengaluru.
The plantation drive, launched on June 27, forms part of the Karnataka government's broader record-attempt initiative aimed at setting a Guinness World Record for large-scale tree plantation while promoting long-term urban sustainability.
Spread across approximately 8 kilometres, the initiative will focus on avenue roads and roundabouts in the new Kempegowda Layout, with the objective of enhancing green cover and improving the city's urban environment.
According to the organisers, the project is designed as a long-term environmental effort rather than a one-day plantation event, with emphasis on the sustained growth and maintenance of the saplings.
The collaboration between UnboxingBLR, the Karnataka government and the BDA aims to contribute to Bengaluru's climate resilience, improve urban biodiversity and create greener public spaces in one of the city's rapidly developing residential areas.
The initiative also supports the state's broader environmental goals by encouraging public-private partnerships for sustainable urban development and ecological conservation.
