Business To Business, New Delhi, 22nd July, 2026: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has dismissed a complaint against Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) and China-based Eternal Tsingshan Group and its affiliated entities, holding that no prima facie case of violation of competition law was established.
In an order passed on Tuesday, the fair trade regulator said the complaint alleged that JSL, Eternal Tsingshan Group—engaged in the stainless steel and nickel industry in Indonesia—and its group entities had contravened Sections 3 and 4 of the Competition Act.
Section 3 of the Competition Act deals with anti-competitive agreements, while Section 4 relates to the abuse of a dominant market position. After examining the allegations, the CCI concluded that no prima facie case warranting further investigation was made out.
