CCPA orders probe into sale of unregistered herbicide on Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, JioMart

Business To Business, New Delhi, 16th May 2026: Four major e-commerce platforms — Amazon India, Flipkart, Meesho and JioMart — have delisted an allegedly unregistered agro-chemical product after receiving notices from the Central Consumer Protection Authority.
According to the regulator, the platforms informed the CCPA that listings of “Cyclosinone Herbicide” had been removed with immediate effect and that seller accounts linked to the product were being scrutinised.
However, the CCPA said these actions were only an initial step and directed that a comprehensive investigation into the matter be carried out.
The regulator’s action comes amid concerns over the online sale of potentially unregistered or non-compliant agro-chemical products through e-commerce marketplaces.
