CM Naidu directs officials to transform Andhra's coastline into commercial hub
Business To Business, New Delhi, 26th May, 2026: N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to prepare a comprehensive vision plan aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh’s coastline into a major commercial and economic hub.
During a meeting with officials and experts on coastal development, Naidu instructed them to undertake a holistic study covering:
- Infrastructure and development projects
- Investment opportunities
- Employment generation
- Benefits for fishing communities
- Long-term coastal economic planning
According to an official release, the chief minister emphasised that the state’s nearly 1,000-km coastline should be developed into a region “buzzing with commercial activities.”
The proposed strategy is expected to focus on:
- Port-led development
- Coastal industrial corridors
- Logistics and maritime infrastructure
- Tourism and fisheries development
- Blue economy initiatives
Naidu also stressed the importance of ensuring that fishermen and coastal communities benefit directly from development initiatives.
Andhra Pradesh has one of the longest coastlines in India and is strategically important for maritime trade, ports, shipping, fisheries, and industrial development.
