Business To Business,Bhopal, 05th July, 2026: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a ₹2,500-crore defence manufacturing facility in Shivpuri district, marking a significant boost to India's indigenous defence production capabilities.
The project is being developed by Adani Defence and Aerospace, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, and will comprise a missile complex, a composite propellant complex and a TNT manufacturing complex, according to officials.
The integrated defence manufacturing unit is expected to strengthen the country's defence industrial base by supporting the production of critical military systems and ammunition, while contributing to the development of a robust domestic defence ecosystem.
Officials said the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of achieving self-reliance in the defence sector through the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. The facility is expected to enhance indigenous manufacturing capacity, reduce dependence on imports and support the country's long-term strategic objectives.
Apart from strengthening defence preparedness, the project is also expected to generate employment opportunities, promote industrial development in the region and attract ancillary industries to Shivpuri and surrounding areas, giving a significant fillip to Madhya Pradesh's manufacturing sector.
