Business To Business, New Delhi, 28th June, 2026: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is investigating an incident in which a trainee pilot sustained injuries after being struck by the rotating propeller of a trainer aircraft at Kanpur (Chakeri) Airport on Friday.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the aviation regulator said the incident occurred after the trainee pilot had disembarked from the twin-engine Tecnam P2006T aircraft, registration VT-NBV.
The aircraft belongs to Garg Aviation and was conducting a night instructional flying sortie at the time of the incident.
The DGCA said the instructor associated with the flight has been removed from flying training duties pending completion of the investigation.
The regulator is examining the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine whether standard operating procedures and safety protocols were followed. The investigation's findings will guide any further regulatory or disciplinary action, if warranted.
