ED arrests 2 former executives of Reliance Anil Ambani Group
Business To Business, Mumbai, 13th June, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday arrested two former executives of the Reliance Anil Ambani Group under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials said.
The arrested individuals are:
- Sateesh Seth
- Gautam Doshi
Both were previously associated with
Reliance Telecom Ltd.
According to officials, the ED obtained transit remand for the two executives in
Mumbai and is taking them to
New Delhi, where the money laundering case is registered.
The arrests stem from a case being investigated by the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In March, the CBI registered a case and conducted searches against the two former executives in connection with an alleged loan fraud involving
₹114.98 crore at
State Bank of India.
Under Indian law, the ED can initiate a money laundering investigation when a scheduled offence—such as an alleged bank fraud—is being probed by another agency like the CBI.
The current ED action is therefore linked to the underlying fraud allegations being examined by the CBI.
The investigation is expected to focus on:
- The utilization of the loan funds.
- The alleged diversion or misuse of funds.
- The financial trail connected to the transactions.
- Potential proceeds of crime under the PMLA.
At this stage, the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation, and the allegations have yet to be tested in court. Further details are likely to emerge as the ED presents the accused before the appropriate court in Delhi and continues its probe.
