Business To Business, New Delhi, 16th July, 2026: Food regulator FSSAI on Thursday directed the industry to ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, strengthen quality assurance systems, adopt digital traceability, and maintain greater transparency with consumers amid a rise in complaints on social media platforms.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) also said it will implement a robust digital traceability system to help identify and address foodborne illness outbreaks more effectively.
In recent months, the regulator has issued notices to a large number of food business operators (FBOs), including e-commerce companies, over consumer complaints related to product quality. It has also taken action against energy drink makers and alcoholic beverage manufacturers for alleged misleading claims and labelling violations.
