Business To Business, New Delhi, 26th July, 2026: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Saturday said it has imposed a penalty on Sopan Restaurant for selling sub-standard food in the pantry car of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express.
In a post on social media, the food regulator said an adjudication order had been passed against the catering service provider after it was found to have sold food that did not meet prescribed quality standards.
According to FSSAI, the action followed the analysis of a Nova Flavoured Double Toned Milk sample collected from Pantry Car No. 15904 (Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express), which was being operated by Sopan Restaurant.
The regulator said the penalty was imposed based on the findings of the food sample analysis, reaffirming its commitment to enforcing food safety standards and ensuring the quality of food served to passengers on trains.
