FSSAI prohibits Dabur from selling food products with '100 pc' claims

Business To Business, New Delhi, 03 August, 2026:   The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has prohibited Dabur India from selling several food products carrying "100 per cent" claims, stating that such labelling violates food safety and labelling regulations.
According to the regulator, it has issued a prohibition order against Dabur over the sale of products carrying allegedly misleading claims, including:

  • Honey
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Virgin coconut oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Cow ghee
  • Coconut water
  • Coconut milk
  • Other similar food products
FSSAI said products listed on the company's website were found using claims such as:
  • "100% Natural"
  • "100% Pure"
  • "100% Purity Guaranteed"
  • "100% Organic"
  • "100% Tender Coconut Water"
The regulator said these "100%" claims are misleading and not permissible under the applicable food labelling laws, as they can create an inaccurate impression about the nature, purity or composition of the products.
The prohibition order requires the company to stop selling food products carrying such claims until they comply with the regulatory requirements.
