Business To Business, New Delhi, 29th June, 2026: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday reviewed the quality and maintenance of National Highways covering 3,245 km in Jharkhand and 4,026 km in Uttarakhand, according to an official statement.
The review meetings were conducted separately for the two states and were initiated based on feedback received through media reports and social media platforms regarding the condition of highway infrastructure.
During the meetings, Gadkari stressed the importance of timely execution of maintenance works to ensure that National Highways remain safe and efficient for commuters.
He also directed officials to maintain strict adherence to the highest quality standards in construction and maintenance and called for wider adoption of modern construction technologies to develop sustainable, durable and efficient highway infrastructure.
The review forms part of the Ministry's efforts to strengthen the quality of the National Highway network through regular monitoring, prompt maintenance and the use of advanced engineering practices.
