Business To Business, New Delhi, 01th August, 2026: GHCL Ltd, India's largest single-location soda ash manufacturer, on Saturday reported a 32 per cent year-on-year increase in its net profit to Rs 191.18 crore for the first quarter, aided by lower operating expenses despite a decline in total income.
The Gujarat-based chemicals company had posted a net profit of Rs 144.78 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, according to a regulatory filing.
Total income during the quarter declined 3.06 per cent to Rs 798.01 crore, compared with Rs 823.19 crore a year earlier.
The company's total expenses fell to Rs 594.10 crore from Rs 627.96 crore in the year-ago period, helping offset the impact of lower revenue and supporting the improvement in profitability.
The quarterly performance reflects the benefit of cost control measures, which enabled GHCL to post higher earnings despite a modest decline in income.
