Business To Business, Hyderabad, 29th July, 2026: A case has been registered against Google India’s nodal officer for alleged negligence after an employee of a defence public sector undertaking (PSU) reportedly lost Rs 7.95 lakh through a fraudulent trading application downloaded from the Google Play Store, police said on Wednesday.
The case was registered at the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police Station following a complaint filed by the victim.
According to police, the complainant alleged that he downloaded a trading application from the Google Play Store, which later turned out to be fake, resulting in a financial loss of Rs 7.95 lakh.
Based on the complaint, the police booked Google India's nodal officer on allegations of negligence and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Authorities are probing the circumstances surrounding the listing of the application on the Play Store and the alleged fraud committed through the platform.
