Govt committed to position Himachal as no.1 state in natural farming: Sukhu

Business To Business, Shimla, 04th July, 2026:   Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said the Congress government is making concerted efforts to establish the state as the country's leading hub for natural farming.
Chairing a meeting of the Agriculture Department, Sukhu said that 2,56,870 farmers have adopted natural farming practices across 44,784.73 hectares of land. He added that the number of farmers embracing natural farming has been rising steadily following the introduction of new initiatives by the present state government.
According to a statement issued by the government, the chief minister said that many farmers who had earlier abandoned cultivation were returning to agriculture and showing renewed interest in natural farming.
Sukhu also said Himachal Pradesh became the first state in the country to offer a minimum support price (MSP) for naturally grown crops, a measure aimed at encouraging sustainable agricultural practices and improving farmers' incomes.
