Govt eyes Rs 10,000 cr investment in Gwalior's telecom manufacturing zone

Business To Business, New Delhi, 30th July, 2026:   The government has set a target of attracting Rs 10,000 crore in investments for the proposed Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ), Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Thursday.
The Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government have partnered to establish the Telecom Manufacturing Zone with the aim of boosting domestic telecom equipment manufacturing and attracting large-scale investments.
Scindia said the project has already secured investment commitments worth Rs 2,000 crore in its initial phase.
"We have received investment commitment of Rs 2,000 crore (for TMZ). The first is for three years. In the second phase, we expect to cross investment of Rs 10,000 crore," the minister said.
The Telecom Manufacturing Zone is expected to strengthen India's telecom manufacturing ecosystem, promote indigenous production, generate employment and support the country's broader objective of becoming a global hub for telecom equipment manufacturing.
