Govt has Rs 790 cr outlay in FY27 for cyber security projects: MoS IT

Business To Business New Delhi, 07 August, 2026:    The Union government has allocated Rs 790 crore for cyber security projects in the current financial year, Parliament was informed on Friday.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Jitin Prasada said the government has adopted a range of legal, technical and administrative measures to strengthen India's cyber security framework and protect citizens as well as government institutions from cyber threats.

Capacity building
Prasada said Indian Computer Emergency Response Team> (CERT-In) conducts cyber security training programmes to build skilled manpower.
These programmes:
  • Cover emerging technologies and cyber security practices.
  • Are conducted in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Aim to upskill cyber security professionals in government, public sector and private organisations.
According to the minister, these initiatives are part of the government's broader strategy to strengthen cyber preparedness, improve incident response capabilities and address evolving cyber security challenges across the country.
