Govt restores commercial LPG supplies as West Asia crisis pressures ease

Business To Business, New Delhi, 25th June, 2026:   The government on Thursday restored liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies to commercial consumers, including hotels, restaurants and other businesses, to pre-crisis levels and withdrew sector-specific restrictions imposed during the recent West Asia conflict, signalling an easing of energy supply concerns.
In a statement, the Petroleum Ministry said the restrictions on commercial LPG supplies were lifted following an improvement in domestic production and the anticipated arrival of imported LPG cargoes.
The ministry also announced the partial resumption of bulk LPG supplies, which had been suspended at the onset of the crisis. Bulk LPG will now be supplied at 50 per cent of pre-crisis consumption levels.
The move reflects improving supply conditions and greater confidence in the availability of fuel stocks, as global energy markets show signs of stabilisation after the disruptions caused by tensions in West Asia.
