Goyal urges Canada for dual degrees to drive cooperation in education sector

Business To Business, New Delhi, 28th May, 2026:   Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has suggested that Canada explore dual-degree programmes as a way to deepen cooperation in the education sector with India.
Speaking at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, Goyal said that ongoing global economic and geopolitical turbulence presents an opportunity for a “political reset” in India–Canada relations.
He encouraged Canadian students to visit India and observe its development initiatives firsthand, positioning educational exchange as a key pillar for strengthening bilateral ties.
The remarks come amid efforts by both countries to recalibrate engagement across education, trade, and broader diplomatic cooperation.
