Greenply partners with GreenLine to drive greener logistics with LNG-powered trucks

Business To Business, Vadodara, 09 September 2026:   Greenply Industries Limited on Wednesday announced its partnership with GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, a leading green logistics operator driving the decarbonisation of the heavy trucking sector in India, to integrate LNG-powered transportation into its outbound logistics operations.
 
The partnership was formally marked by the flag-off of GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks at Greenply’s Vadodara manufacturing facility, marking a step forward in the company’s efforts to build a more sustainable logistics ecosystem. As part of the partnership, Greenply will leverage GreenLine’s green logistics network to transport products from its Vadodara facility to destinations across its distribution network. The initiative will support the integration of cleaner mobility solutions into Greenply’s freight operations.
 
The initiative brings an alternative-fuel option into Greenply’s cost-effective and sustainable logistics operations, extending the company’s sustainability focus to the transportation and movement of materials.
 
The move comes at a time when alternative fuels are gaining greater relevance in India’s commercial transportation ecosystem. LNG-powered vehicles can offer a lower-emission alternative to conventional diesel-based transportation, depending on vehicle configuration, fuel quality, and operating conditions. Greenply’s LNG-powered trucks reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40 per cent, SOx by up to 100 per cent, NOx by up to 59 per cent, particulate matter by up to 91 per cent and CO by up to 70 per cent, making them a lower-emission alternative for India’s long-haul freight sector.
 
For Greenply, the adoption of LNG-powered trucks is part of a broader approach to embedding responsible practices across its value chain. While manufacturing remains a key area of focus, the company is also looking at how sustainability considerations can be incorporated into associated activities such as logistics and distribution.

GreenLine is driving the transition towards lower-emission road freight in India through its growing fleet of LNG- and electric-powered heavy commercial trucks. The company operates over 1,000 vehicles across major freight corridors, serving industries including steel, cement, mining, FMCG and chemicals. Its fleet has collectively travelled more than 100 million kilometres, helping customers reduce over 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
 
The introduction of LNG-powered trucks also provides Greenply with an opportunity to evaluate the operational feasibility of alternative-fuel transportation within its dispatch network. The company will continue to assess opportunities to incorporate more responsible mobility solutions across its logistics ecosystem, based on operational requirements and learnings from the initiative.
