Haryana digitally maps 1.75 crore farm plots
Business To Business, Chandigarh, 18th June, 2026: Haryana has made significant progress in implementing the AgriStack programme, with authorities reporting that 1.75 crore agricultural plots and 96% of villages in the state have already been digitally mapped.
The update was shared during a steering committee meeting of the AgriStack programme chaired by Anurag Rastogi on Thursday.
According to officials:
- Digital mapping of approximately 1.75 crore agricultural plots has been completed.
- 96% of Haryana's villages have been covered under the programme.
- More than 11.58 lakh farmers have been enrolled.
- 8.32 lakh farmer IDs have already been issued.
- The remaining villages are expected to be covered within the next two months.
AgriStack is a digital agriculture initiative aimed at creating a unified database by integrating:
- Farmer records
- Land ownership information
- Crop-related data
- Agricultural service delivery systems
The objective is to establish a comprehensive digital ecosystem for agriculture that can support evidence-based policymaking and efficient service delivery.
Rastogi said the programme will help create a more transparent and data-driven agricultural administration by bringing critical information onto a single platform.
Once fully operational, the system is expected to:
- Accelerate the delivery of government benefits and subsidies.
- Improve identification of eligible beneficiaries.
- Reduce duplication and errors in welfare schemes.
- Enhance targeting and monitoring of agricultural support programmes.
- Strengthen planning and policy decisions through accurate data.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to digitize agricultural governance and modernize public service delivery. By creating unique digital identities and linking them with land and crop records, governments can streamline interactions with farmers and improve the efficiency of agricultural schemes.
Haryana's high level of coverage places it among the leading states in the implementation of AgriStack, and the completion of the remaining villages over the coming months is expected to bring the programme close to full statewide rollout.
