Haryana govt to set up committees in every district to promote natural farming

Business To Business, Chandigarh, 08th July, 2026:    Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced the formation of 'Prakriti Shri Anna Prerak Kisan Committees' in every district of the state to accelerate the adoption of natural farming and strengthen outreach among farmers.
Addressing the 'Prakritik Kheti Samvad' programme organised by the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department in Panchkula, Saini said the committees will play a crucial role in encouraging farmers to embrace sustainable agricultural practices.
According to the Chief Minister, the primary responsibility of the district-level committees will be to engage directly with farmers by visiting their fields, creating awareness about the benefits of natural farming and coordinating with the government to facilitate their transition to chemical-free cultivation.
He said the committees will effectively function as ambassadors of natural farming, acting as a bridge between farmers and the government while promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices across the state.
Saini emphasised that the initiative is part of the Haryana government's broader strategy to improve soil health, reduce dependence on chemical fertilisers and pesticides, lower cultivation costs and enhance farmers' incomes through sustainable farming methods.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state's commitment to promoting natural farming as a key component of agricultural development, expressing confidence that the new committees would help expand the adoption of eco-friendly farming practices and contribute to long-term environmental conservation and rural prosperity.
