Himachal ranks third in Investment Friendliness Index 2026 among hilly, NE states: CM

Business To Business, Shimla, 26th July, 2026:   Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said the state has secured the third position among hilly and Northeastern states and has been placed in the 'Frontrunner' category in the latest Investment Friendliness Index (IFI) 2026 released by NITI Aayog.
Sukhu said the ranking reflects the state government's sustained efforts to improve the ease of doing business and strengthen investor confidence through policy reforms and administrative measures.
"Our government has consistently focused on the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), thereby enhancing ease of doing business. The state's top ranking reflects the success of our reform-oriented approach and commitment towards creating a transparent, efficient and investor-friendly ecosystem," the Chief Minister said.
He said the recognition underscores Himachal Pradesh's progress in creating a conducive environment for investment and promoting sustainable economic growth through governance reforms and business-friendly policies.
