Business To Business, New Delhi, 01st July, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which the two leaders discussed the recent developments in West Asia and the way forward.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), President Pezeshkian briefed Modi on the evolving regional situation.
During the conversation, Modi reiterated the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as vital for both India and the global community.
The Prime Minister welcomed the recent understanding reached in the region and reaffirmed India's consistent position that all outstanding issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
The discussion comes amid heightened tensions in West Asia, with India continuing to advocate peaceful engagement and stability in the region.
