Business To Business, New Delhi, 6th May, 2026: India and the European Union on Wednesday launched a third coordinated call for proposals to recycle electric vehicle batteries under the India-EU Trade and Technology Council, specifically its Working Group 2 on green and clean energy technologies.
The initiative aims to secure critical raw materials, accelerate the transition to a circular economy, and deepen bilateral cooperation between India and the EU.
With a combined funding pool of €15.2 million (about ₹169 crore), the programme will be supported by the EU’s Horizon Europe, while the Ministry of Heavy Industries will fund the Indian component, according to an official statement.
