Business To Business, New Delhi, 25th July, 2026: The implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is expected to nearly double bilateral trade to USD 115 billion by 2030, according to a study released by industry body Assocham on Friday.
The trade pact came into force on July 15, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
According to the study, total bilateral trade is projected to grow from USD 58 billion in 2025-26 to USD 115 billion by 2030, driven by improved market access, lower trade barriers and increased business collaboration.
Assocham also estimated that the agreement could generate 700,000 to 1 million new employment opportunities across sectors as trade and investment expand under the pact.
The industry body said the FTA is expected to provide a major boost to India's exports to the UK while enhancing economic cooperation and creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
