Business To Business, New Delhi, 14th June, 2026: Piyush Goyal on Sunday invited French companies to expand their presence in India and invest in the country's manufacturing sector, highlighting India's talent base, scale, and growth opportunities.
Speaking at the Bharat Innovates in Nice, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, Goyal emphasized India's potential as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
He urged French businesses to take advantage of India's large domestic market and export capabilities, stating:
"I would invite our French friends to visit India, invest in India, design in India, innovate in India and manufacture in India, both for the large domestic market and export from India to the rest of the world."
Goyal noted that India offers a vast pool of skilled talent and the scale necessary for large manufacturing operations. His remarks align with the government's broader efforts to promote initiatives such as "Make in India" and attract greater foreign direct investment into sectors including manufacturing, technology, innovation, and advanced industries.
The appeal to French investors comes amid growing economic and strategic ties between India and France, with both countries expanding cooperation in areas such as defence, technology, infrastructure, clean energy, and industrial development.
The event highlighted opportunities for collaboration between Indian and French businesses, startups, and innovators as the two countries seek to deepen their economic partnership.
