Infosys headcount falls by 532 employees in Jun quarter

Business To Business, New Delhi, 24th July, 2026:   Infosys reported a sequential decline of 532 employees during the first quarter of the financial year, taking its total workforce to 3,28,062.
Despite the marginal drop in headcount, the Bengaluru-based IT services company said it hired more than 4,000 college graduates during the quarter and remains on track to recruit 20,000 fresh graduates in the current financial year, in line with its hiring target for the previous year.
Infosys Chief Executive Officer Salil Parekh said the company had made a strong start to its campus recruitment programme while continuing to benefit from productivity improvements.
"This year we have a plan to recruit 20,000 college graduates. We have already done over 4,000 in the first quarter. But equally, we see that there is a productivity benefit that will continue to come through...," Parekh said.
The company indicated that its hiring strategy balances talent acquisition with productivity gains as it continues to invest in its workforce while maintaining operational efficiency.
