J-K govt approves Rs 15.22 cr augmentation of Kathua Grid Station

Business To Business, Srinagar, 25th July, 2026:   The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday approved a Rs 15.22 crore project to augment the Kathua Grid Station, aiming to strengthen power supply and improve the electricity transmission network in the region.
According to an official spokesperson, the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has sanctioned the enhancement of the grid station's capacity along with the execution of allied infrastructure works.
The project is designed to meet the region's growing electricity demand by modernising the transmission infrastructure and ensuring a more robust and reliable power supply.
The spokesperson said the augmentation of the Kathua Grid Station will improve the resilience and efficiency of the power network, supporting the government's efforts to provide uninterrupted electricity and strengthen infrastructure in the Union Territory.
