Business To Business, Amaravati, 30th July, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday laid the foundation stone for renewable energy projects by Tata Power and Suzlon in Kurnool district, involving a combined investment of Rs 5,750 crore.
Addressing the gathering after the ceremony, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a preferred destination for global investors following efforts by the NDA coalition government to restore investor confidence.
He said the renewable energy sector was facing significant challenges when the government assumed office in 2024.
"When we assumed office in 2024, the renewable energy sector was in complete disarray and investor confidence had eroded after power purchase agreements were cancelled and projects came to a standstill. We have steadily rebuilt that confidence, and today Andhra Pradesh has become the preferred destination for global investors," Lokesh said.
The projects by Tata Power and Suzlon are expected to strengthen the state's renewable energy capacity, attract further investments and contribute to clean energy generation and economic development in the region.
