Mrs Neerja Birla Leads Mpower Initiative with BTECH to Expand Evidence-Based Suicide Prevention Programme in India

Business To Business, Mumbai, 7th May, 2026: Mpower, an initiative of the Aditya Birla Education Trust founded by Neerja Birla, has partnered with the globally recognised Behavioral Tech Institute to introduce a structured, evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) programme in India.
The initiative aims to strengthen India’s mental healthcare ecosystem, particularly in the treatment of high-risk mental health conditions, including cases involving suicide risk and self-harm. Mpower said it is among the early mental healthcare providers in India to introduce a structured DBT programme at scale.
Supported by Marsh India as part of its CSR initiatives focused on mental health, the programme has begun with a DBT Intensive Programme in Mumbai for the first cohort.
According to the organisers, the year-long capability-building initiative is aligned with global standards followed by the Behavioral Tech Institute and includes foundational and advanced modules, ongoing case-based consultation, team-based learning, and real-world clinical application to ensure sustained professional training and implementation.
