Reliance Intelligence to make AI dramatically more affordable in India by 2030: Akash Ambani

Business To Business, New Delhi, 19th June, 2026:  Akash Ambani said on Friday that Reliance Industries plans to transform the economics of artificial intelligence in India by making the technology "dramatically more affordable for every Indian" by the end of the decade, drawing parallels with the mobile data revolution driven by Jio.
Speaking at the 49th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Ambani said the company is focused on building "AI for India, AI by India, and AI that will one day serve the world."
Addressing what he described as the biggest challenge facing AI adoption in India—the limited availability and high cost of computing power—Ambani announced that Reliance Intelligence is developing India's sovereign AI infrastructure in Jamnagar.
According to him, this AI backbone is intended to provide the large-scale computing capacity needed to support the country's AI ambitions, reduce dependence on foreign infrastructure, and enable broader access to advanced AI technologies for businesses, developers, researchers, and consumers across India.
