T'gana govt to help women SHGs to set up rice mills, logistic parks, super bazaars

Business To Business, Hyderabad, 26th May, 2026:   A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced a series of initiatives aimed at economically empowering women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Telangana.
Speaking after virtually laying the foundation stone for 8,000 “Indira Gandhi Stree Sakthi” buildings for SHGs, the chief minister said the government plans to support women’s groups in establishing:

  • Rice mills
  • Logistic parks and godowns
  • Corporate-style super bazaars
Reddy said the state government would provide land and help facilitate bank financing so that SHGs can build and operate these ventures independently.
He also announced a major enhancement in bank credit support for SHGs:
  • Existing bank linkage limit: ₹5 lakh
  • Revised limit: ₹10 lakh
The initiatives are intended to strengthen:
  • Women-led entrepreneurship
  • Rural livelihoods
  • Financial inclusion
  • Community-based enterprise development
The proposed infrastructure and business support model reflects the Telangana government’s broader effort to transform SHGs from small savings groups into larger economic and commercial enterprises.
