Business To Business, Ranchi, 21st July, 2026: Tata Steel on Monday announced plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore in its projects in Jharkhand by 2028, a move expected to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The company aims to increase its steelmaking capacity in India to 40 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) from the current 27.35 MTPA through capacity expansion and the adoption of low-emission steelmaking technologies.
A company official said the planned investment includes Rs 7,000 crore for HIsarna and Easy Melting Technology projects by 2028, adding that the overall investment will support employment generation while advancing Tata Steel's transition to cleaner steel production.
