UBL adds Rs 43,000 cr to economy, tax outgo Rs 30,600 cr in FY25: Report

Business To Business, New Delhi, 07th July, 2026:    United Breweries Ltd (UBL), part of the HEINEKEN Company, contributed an estimated ₹43,000 crore to India's economy during the financial year 2024-25, according to a socio-economic impact study released on Tuesday.
The study, conducted by Amsterdam-based impact and sustainability consultancy Steward Redqueen, found that UBL's economic contribution included tax payments of ₹30,600 crore across its value chain, providing a significant and stable source of revenue for public finances.
According to the report, the company's tax contribution was equivalent to around 1.3 per cent of the total tax revenues of Indian states and approximately 0.1 per cent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The study highlighted the brewer's broader economic impact through its operations, supply chain and distribution network, underscoring its role in supporting employment, business activity and government revenues.
Beyond direct business operations, the report noted that United Breweries generates value across multiple sectors by sourcing raw materials, engaging logistics and distribution partners, and supporting a wide ecosystem of suppliers and retailers.
The findings reflect the significant contribution of the brewing industry to the Indian economy through investments, employment generation, agricultural linkages and tax collections, while reinforcing the sector's role in supporting economic growth and public finances.
