Business To Business, New Delhi, 10th July, 2026:    Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of key initiatives aimed at strengthening India's textile sector through technology upgradation, institutional reforms and enhanced industry support.
The minister reviewed the transformation of the erstwhile Powerloom Service Centres into Integrated Textile and Apparel Development Centres (ITADCs), which are being repositioned as comprehensive growth hubs for the textile industry.
The revamped ITADCs are envisioned as one-stop facilitation centres offering a wide range of services, including:

  • Skill development and training
  • Product testing and quality support
  • Design and innovation assistance
  • Technology adoption
  • Entrepreneurship development
  • Credit facilitation
  • Export promotion
  • Market linkages
The centres are expected to support textile entrepreneurs, MSMEs and other stakeholders across the entire textile value chain, helping improve competitiveness, encourage innovation and promote sustainable growth in India's textile ecosystem.
