Vodafone Idea posts profit of Rs 51,970 crore due to reduction in statutory liabilities

Business To Business, New Delhi, 16th May 2026: Vodafone Idea reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 51,970 crore for the March quarter of FY2025-26, marking its first quarterly profit in nearly six years, primarily due to relief related to statutory liabilities.
The telecom operator had posted a loss of Rs 7,167 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, according to a company filing.
According to the filing, the Department of Telecommunications on January 27 confirmed that Vodafone Idea’s adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues stood at Rs 87,695 crore as of December 31, 2025.
Subsequently, on April 30, the DoT informed the company that a committee constituted for reassessment had finalised the AGR dues at Rs 64,046 crore for the period from FY2006-07 to FY2018-19 as of December 31, 2025.
Vodafone Idea has been facing severe financial stress due to high debt and AGR-related liabilities, and the revised dues provided significant accounting relief to the company during the quarter.
