Business To Business, Dubai, 19th July, 2026: The United States military said on Saturday that two additional American service members had been killed in the conflict with Iran, bringing the total number of US military fatalities to 16.
The deaths underscore the risks faced by American forces deployed across the Middle East, even without large-scale ground combat, as the conflict has involved drones, missiles and airstrikes. The widespread presence of US personnel in the region has also exposed bases and allied countries to retaliatory attacks by Iran following the collapse of peace talks.
President Donald Trump has maintained that the military campaign is necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. As of Saturday afternoon, he had not issued a separate statement on the latest fatalities in Jordan, with the White House instead referring to a statement released by the US Central Command.
