2 killed as vehicle carrying poll materials meets with accident in Nepal
Business To Business, Islamabad, 03 March 2026: Two people, including a policeman, were killed and seven others injured on Monday when a vehicle transporting election materials and staff for the upcoming March 5 Nepal election met with an accident, police said.
What Happened?
The accident occurred at Deurali in Ramechhap district when a mini truck veered off a narrow hilly road and plunged approximately 150 metres down a slope.
- One person died on the spot.
- Another succumbed to injuries during treatment.
- Seven others sustained injuries and are receiving medical care.
Challenging Terrain
Ramechhap, located in Nepal’s mountainous region, is known for its steep and winding roads, which often pose risks, especially when transporting personnel and materials for major events such as elections.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while preparations for the March 5 election continue under tightened safety measures.
