British Pakistani ‘dangerous’ terrorism plotter jailed in UK

Business To Business, London, 24th July, 2026:   A UK court has sentenced 31-year-old Mohammad Asim Bashir, a UK-born dual British-Pakistani national, to life imprisonment for planning a mass-casualty terrorist attack on a military base.
Authorities said Bashir was a "dangerous individual" and a committed jihadist. He pleaded guilty to preparing an act of terrorism after an investigation by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) uncovered evidence of his attack plans.
The Manchester Crown Court ordered that Bashir serve a minimum of 16 years and 135 days in prison before he can be considered for parole.
