Canada, UAE condole Delhi fire that killed 21

Business To Business, Toronto, 4th June, 2026:  Canada and the United Arab Emirates have expressed condolences following the deadly fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar that killed at least 21 people, including several foreign nationals, and injured many others.
Canada's response
Anita Anand said in a social media post that she was deeply saddened by the tragedy.
She stated:
"Deeply saddened by the tragic fire that claimed at least 21 lives and injured many others in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi."
Anand added that Canada stands with India during this difficult time and extended condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected. She also noted that she was in contact with S. Jaishankar to convey Canada's solidarity.
International reaction
The expressions of sympathy from Canada and the UAE reflect international concern over the incident, particularly as a number of foreign nationals were among the victims.
The fire, which occurred at the Flourish Stay B&B in the Hauz Rani area of south Delhi, has become one of the deadliest fire tragedies in the capital in recent years.
