Business To Business, New York, 7th June, 2026: Sriram Krishnan, the Chennai-born technology executive who served as Senior Policy Adviser for Artificial Intelligence in the White House, has announced that he will step down from his position at the end of the month.
Krishnan made the announcement in a post on X, stating that he plans to take a break before continuing work on major AI-related challenges facing the United States.
During his tenure, he was involved in shaping AI policy under the administration of Donald Trump.
The 42-year-old has had a prominent career in the technology industry, including roles at Microsoft, Meta Platforms (Facebook), and X Corp. (formerly Twitter).
In his statement, Krishnan indicated that while he is leaving government service, he intends to remain engaged in AI policy and development issues.
Krishnan has been one of the most prominent Indian-origin figures in US technology policy. His departure comes at a time when artificial intelligence remains a major strategic, economic, and national-security priority for the United States. His future role has not yet been disclosed, but his statement suggests he will continue working on AI-related initiatives outside the White House.
