China issues red alert as Typhoon Noul approaches

Business To Business, Beijing, 26th July, 2026:   China's National Meteorological Centre (NMC) has issued a red alert, the highest level in the country's four-tier typhoon warning system, as Typhoon Noul approaches the southern coast.
According to the alert issued late Saturday night, Typhoon Noul, the 12th typhoon of the year, is expected to make landfall along the coast of Guangdong Province.
The NMC said the typhoon's centre was located about 100 kilometres offshore southeast of Huidong County in Huizhou City, Guangdong, late Saturday night.
The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of Force 14 near its centre, indicating a powerful system capable of bringing destructive winds, heavy rainfall and rough seas to coastal areas.
Authorities have issued the highest-level warning as precautionary measures are expected to be stepped up in vulnerable regions ahead of the typhoon's landfall.
