Business To Business, New York, 23rd July, 2026: The US House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a Republican-backed USD 95 billion budget proposal aimed at funding the Iran conflict and advancing other White House priorities, despite unanimous opposition from Democrats and reservations from a few Republican lawmakers.
The measure passed by a narrow 216-214 vote, with all Democratic members voting against it.
House Republicans were divided over the proposal, as several conservatives objected to the absence of offsetting spending cuts. Nevertheless, Speaker Mike Johnson pushed ahead with the Republican-only initiative, viewing it as the most viable path to advance President Donald Trump's legislative priorities in a closely divided Congress, despite uncertainty over its prospects in the Senate.
