India asks its nationals in Israel and Iran to stay vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel

Business To Business, New Delhi, 8th June, 2026:  India has advised its citizens in both Israel and Iran to exercise extreme caution, remain vigilant, and avoid all non-essential travel due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The advisory follows a fresh escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran, involving missile attacks and retaliatory strikes.
The Embassy of India in Iran reiterated its earlier guidance urging Indian nationals to avoid travel to Iran until further notice.

  • According to reports, Iran launched dozens of missiles toward Israel on Sunday evening.
  • The attack came after Israeli military action targeting areas in and around Beirut's southern suburbs.
  • Israel subsequently carried out strikes in central and western Iran, further escalating tensions.
Advice for Indian Nationals
Indian citizens in the region have been advised to:
  • Stay alert and closely follow local security advisories.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel and movement in sensitive areas.
  • Maintain contact with Indian diplomatic missions.
  • Monitor official updates issued by local authorities and Indian embassies.
  • Keep travel and identification documents readily available.
The exchange of military strikes has raised concerns about a broader regional conflict in West Asia. Such situations can lead to disruptions in transportation, communication, and public services, prompting governments to issue travel advisories for their citizens.
India has strengthened its travel advisories for Israel and Iran amid escalating military tensions between the two countries, urging Indian nationals to avoid non-essential travel and remain highly vigilant until the security situation stabilizes.
