India hands over firefighting vehicles to Bhutan Police to reinforce public safety

Business To Business, Thimphu, 11th June, 2026:    India on Thursday handed over four state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles to the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), strengthening Bhutan's emergency response and public safety capabilities.
Strengthening Emergency Services
According to the Embassy of India in Thimphu, the firefighting vehicles are expected to enhance the Royal Bhutan Police's ability to respond to fire-related emergencies and other public safety challenges across the country.
The embassy stated:
"This significant contribution will bolster RBP's emergency response capabilities and reinforce public safety across Bhutan."
Part of Long-Standing Partnership
The assistance forms part of India's broader development partnership with Bhutan, one of India's closest regional partners.
India and Bhutan have maintained close cooperation for decades in areas such as:

  • Infrastructure development
  • Capacity building
  • Security cooperation
  • Education and healthcare
  • Disaster management and public services
The latest contribution also reflects more than six decades of cooperation between India and the Royal Bhutan Police.
The new vehicles are expected to:
