India, Romania agree to double trade over next three years, strengthen defence collaboration

Business To Business, New Delhi, 24th July, 2026:   India and Romania on Thursday agreed to double bilateral trade over the next three years while expanding cooperation in defence and several other key areas of their strategic partnership.
The understanding was reached during talks between President Droupadi Murmu, who is on a state visit to Romania, and her Romanian counterpart, Nicusor Dan. The leaders held comprehensive and forward-looking discussions covering all major aspects of bilateral relations.
Following the meeting, President Murmu said both sides reviewed the progress made in recent years and agreed to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual priority.
The two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic engagement, enhancing defence collaboration, and broadening cooperation across sectors to further elevate India-Romania ties.
