Business To Business, New Delhi, 25th July, 2026: India and Romania are working towards an agreement to facilitate the movement of skilled professionals for the mutual benefit of both countries, a senior Indian diplomat said on Friday.
Briefing the media on President Droupadi Murmu's ongoing state visit to Romania, Sibi George, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, said the two sides held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening cooperation in trade, technology, tourism and talent.
George said economic cooperation featured prominently in the talks, with both countries exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral trade and investment.
He added that India and Romania also discussed the possibility of greater mobility for Indian skilled professionals to meet Romania's workforce requirements in sectors facing labour shortages.
The proposed agreement is expected to deepen people-to-people ties while supporting economic cooperation and addressing the demand for skilled workers in Romania.
