India's aspirations 'no longer limited to its borders': Modi to diaspora in Netherlands

Business To Business, The Hague, 16th May 2026: Narendra Modi on Saturday described India as a “land of opportunities” undergoing an “unprecedented transformation”, asserting that the country’s aspirations are “no longer limited to its borders”.
Addressing members of the Indian diaspora in The Hague during his visit to the Netherlands, Modi said India was dreaming big and that its youth aspired to “reach the sky”.
In his speech, which lasted over 40 minutes, the prime minister said that 21st century India is both technology-driven and humanity-driven, while also becoming “as modern as it is ancient”.
He encouraged members of the Indian community abroad to reconnect with their ancestral villages in India and contribute to the country’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
The remarks came as part of Modi’s broader outreach to the Indian diaspora during his five-nation international tour focused on strengthening strategic, economic and cultural ties.
